The
Larry H. Miller group has one of the finest movie theater
entertainment groups in the nation. As with any
operation in Utah, hard water, metals, taste and odor are a
continuous problem in maintaining a uniform guest
experience. Drinks taste disgusting when
prepared with chlorinated water and hard water leaves a
permanent coating on everything it touches.
An existing water softener was installed
when the building was constructed, but due to poor design
was introducing rust into the water in the building.
|

Old Water Softeners were simply not adequate for the
task, providing rust-laden water into the building.
This water was still laden with chlorine tastes & odors. |
| |
|

Each drink machine was being filtered with replaceable
cartridges - a maintenance nightmare. Costly,
awkward and difficult to control bacteria.
The new empowered water filtration system negated the
need for individual point of use scale control, taste & odor
filters. |

The
new system was built on the Pentair 2900 drive train with
the inclusion of Intermountain Water's proprietary
electronics to provide the command & control mechanisms
necessary to provide a suitable finished quality water.
Pur-Gard feeders and structured matrix
resin along with Chlorgon media are key components to the
success of this project.
Structural fiber tanks were supplied by
Pentair and spun to ASME spec. specially for this project.

"In 2001,
Intermountain Water installed their proprietary water
conditioning and filtration systems at the
Jordan Commons
Megaplex and Mayan
Restaurant in Salt Lake City Utah, replacing our
existing water softeners.
The Jordan Commons Megaplex & Mayan Restaurant are members
of the Larry H. Miller group of companies. As a premium
entertainment venue we place the highest emphasis on
providing an outstanding experience for our guests, and one
of the finest entertainment and dining experiences in the
state.
To ensure that our guests enjoy their drinks and meals, we
depend heavily on the conditioning and filtration
technologies provided by Intermountain Water, providing our
guests a uniform drinking experience while saving us money
on soft-drink concentrates.
Our maintenance department has especially enjoyed the
improvements in water heating efficiency and cleaning
efficacy provided by the improved water quality. The quality
of conditioned water has positively affected our toilets,
sinks, steamers, boilers, water heaters and cleaning
materials."
Yours truly,
BOB TOONE
